How can you make it a good year?

How can I start 2025 off right?

How can I have a better year next year?

How can I make it a good year?

What is a great way to start a new year?

All questions that I KNOW have crossed your mind as we approach the end of 2024.

So here is something that my mentor shared with me today that I want to share with you to help you answer these questions:

10 things that helped me THIS year...

I reflected on this past year, and even through all the hard moments and all the struggle, I was able to identify 10 things that helped me make progress and show up the best way I could:

1. My personal growth commitment - I am dedicated to no longer being the obstacle in my life.

2. Committing to ONE workout program for the  whole year - watching my body composition change through disciplined repetition has been a gamechanger in making this year the most transformative for my health.

3. Refining my morning routine - getting clear on the activities that mattered the MOST i.e the ones that had the greatest positive affect on my energy and mindset.

4. Taking intentional courses in GrowthDay to uplevel my skills - having such a wide library of comprehensive personal and professional development tools under one roof... #priceless!

5. Getting clear on my ambitions - I dreamt BIG this year - despite many setbacks - and it kept me in the game.

6. Setting boundaries and UPHOLDING them no matter what it “cost” me - this one was huge for my mental and emotional wellbeing.

7. Committing to 85/15 with my nutrition over the span of the year - not about being perfect, just being intentional and consistent, making choices based on how I wanted to FEEL more often than I didn't.

8. Focusing on my relationship with myself and getting honest about where the work needs to be done.

9. Scoring my weeks - this was BIG! Enabling me to reflect on my performance and results on a weekly basis, rather than only doing a year-end reflection, was groundbreaking for my productivity and ability to pivot quickly where necessary.

10. Doubling down on my belief in my ability to create the life I want.

I encourage you to do this exercise too, before setting your goals for 2025. #NewYearNewMe might not be the way to go... especially when you recognise that you don't need to be a 'new you', you just need to realise the already incredible things about you and double down on those.

What could happen in 2025 if you did that?

Love you. Mean it 💋

How to set SMART goals: it is a well-respected and widely taught way to set goals (not necessarily my favourite way ;o), but that is a different conversation); when setting goals for the new year, ensure that they are:

S - Specific, e.g. "I will save $10k"

M - Measurable, e.g "I will save $10k" - when you look at your savings, it's obvious if you hit that target or not

A - Attainable; your goal needs to be possible within the timeframe you allow

R - Relevant; your goal should play a significant role in making your life better

T - Timebound, e.g "I will save $10k by December 31st 2025" - give yourself a deadline
